Legacy Partners Construction will build an 8-foot-high sound wall along Via Grande to replace a swath of eucalyptus trees bulldozed in late October.
Clinton Sherrod, planning director for the city, said Legacy has developed a plan that will place the wall, with landscaping on both sides, along a 200-foot stretch of Via Grande.
Residents of the Granada homes tract were upset when Legacy removed the 25-year-old eucalyptus trees despite previous assurances that the trees would remain. Residents said the trees provided a sight and sound barrier from Interstate 5.
