Garrison Resigns as Coach at North Hollywood High

Jason Garrison, football coach at North Hollywood High for the last three seasons, has resigned. No replacement has been named.
Garrison guided the Huskies to a share of the Sunset Six League championship last season.
Garrison’s three-year record was 12-18.
* Jason Winn, the record-setting quarterback from Granada Hills High, will take a recruiting visit to Texas Tech on Jan. 14.
Winn, who has taken visits to Oklahoma and Colorado State, said he is leaning toward signing with Texas Tech but won’t make a decision until after his visit.
GOLF
* Kyle Thurston of Moorpark shot 79-78-76--233 to finish second in the 13-14 division of the Southwestern Shootout, part of the Future Collegians World Tour, on Wednesday at Singing Hills Resort in El Cajon.
Trevor Owens of Boulder, Colo., won at 80-75-76--231.
Thurston will ride on the Optimist International float Saturday in the Rose Parade at Pasadena.
He earned that honor by winning his division in the Optimist Junior Golf Championship at West Palm Beach, Fla., in July.
