Re “Ahmanson Ranch Project,” letter from Supervisor Frank Schillo, Dec. 27.

Thanks to the Save Open Space volunteers whose efforts have saved Ahmanson Ranch from the bulldozers for one more year.

No thanks to Frank Schillo, who recently has given two go-aheads to the proposed Ahmanson mini-city even though Ventura County voters voted overwhelmingly to preserve open space.

I ask everyone not to support the billionaire banking corporation Washington Mutual, which is intent on destroying the last of our pristine open space.

For this new year, our continued hope is that pristine Ahmanson Ranch, which contains the headwaters of Malibu Creek, becomes permanent parkland for all to enjoy.
