Buena Park Bobby Sox is looking for girls ages 5 to 18 to sign up for the spring season. The all-girls softball group, which has operated in the city since 1975, is geared toward building camaraderie and sportsmanship. Unlike some sports organizations, the Bobby Sox makes sure to keep parents’ behavior in check, said Norman Giller, the group’s vice president.

Registration will be held Saturday and Jan. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at San Antonio Park, at the intersection of San Francisco Drive and San Antonio Avenue. The registration fee is $50 for girls age 6 and younger and $60 for older girls. Players must buy cleats and gloves, but the Sox will provide uniforms. Organizers want parents to bring a copy of the girl’s birth certificate during registration and to be prepared to supply medical information.
