Trojans Let Big Lead Get Away

Reshea Bristol scored a game-high 18 points as Arizona defeated USC, 73-63, Monday night at Tucson.
USC’s 10-1 run gave it a 22-11 lead midway through the first half and USC led, 36-29, at the half. Arizona, 6-5 overall and 1-1 in the Pacific 10 Conference, took its own 11-point lead at 53-42 with a 13-1 spurt early after the break.
USC (5-6, 1-1) came within one point with 6:29 to go but the Wildcats were 10 for 13 at the free-throw line in the final five minutes to pull out the win.
Adrain Williams had 16 points for USC, and Whitney Houser added 15.
Angela Lackey contributed 16 points for Arizona, Felecity Willis had 13 and Elizabeth Pickney 12.
Trojan starter Kristin Clark left because of a knee injury early in the game and did not return.
“Kristin is going to have an MRI first thing [Tuesday] and then we’ll evaluate it from there,” USC Coach Chris Gobrecht said. “We started this season with six guards, and now we are down to two.”
