If approved by a two-thirds vote in April, the $744-million bond measure would provide money for a host of projects, including:
* Replacement of regional fire stations in Arleta, Northridge, Woodland Hills, Westchester and South-Central.
* Smaller replacement fire stations are proposed in Studio City, Sun Valley, Encino, Watts, Pico Union, Palms, South-Central, Westwood, San Pedro, Mar Vista and the Hollywood Hills.
* Replacement of old and cramped police stations in the West Valley, Rampart, Hollenbeck and Harbor divisions.
* Construction of two additional police stations, in the north San Fernando Valley and the Mid-Wilshire area, at a cost of $40 million each. The sixth Valley station also might serve as the administrative offices for a second Valley bureau.
* $67 million to replace Parker Center, the LAPD’s downtown headquarters building.
* $59 million to convert the Piper Technical Center into a police support facility that would include the bomb squad, Scientific Investigation Division and Motor Transport Division.
* $35 million for a new fire dispatch center downtown.
* $41 million to replace the Fire Department’s Air Operations and maintenance facility at Van Nuys Airport.
