Huntington Central Park had a busy year. Ranger Dave Winkler reported that the park had about 619,600 visitors in 1998, the nature center had 41,280, and the park collected more than $18,000 in fees. Winkler also reported that police offered assistance 17 times during the year, 157 citations were issued, 70 medical aids were rendered and 6,364 other service calls were handled.
