Councilman Jim Potts’ request for a continuance led the City Council on Tuesday to postpone a decision to join the Orange County Regional Airport Authority. Even though the city has joined other El Toro Reuse Planning Authority cities in its lawsuit against the El Toro International Airport Environmental Impact Report, it will consider joining OCRAA, a pro-El Toro airport group. OCRAA now has 11 members, with Fullerton and Yorba Linda also joining it at their Tuesday meetings. ETRPA currently has seven members, including Irvine, which recently voted an additional $2 million toward the fight against the airport.
The Tustin council will take up the issue again at its next meeting Feb. 1.
