Grub a Dub Dub

There’s no need to worry about dessert calories now that L.A. designer Greg Herman has introduced Soap Kitchen, a new line of tasty treats for the bath. Soap Kitchen debuted earlier this month with soaps in the shape of peppermint patties, chocolate-covered bananas and slices of coconut cream pie, to name a few..

“Glycerin soaps have gotten so boring, so I [designed a line] that looks and smells like dessert,” Herman explains.

Each soap is hand-milled. Many contain real food ingredients. “We have a caffe latte with coffee beans inside for an exfoliant, and a blueberry-vanilla with real blueberries.” For Valentine’s Day, Herman recommends the red-hot cinnamon bar, which has a sharp red color and lots of spice. New flavors are introduced every two to three weeks.

Primarily known for his handbag designs, Herman opened his company in 1996. His colorful designs are favorites with celebs like Calista Flockhart, Sharon Stone and Alyssa Milano. Soap Kitchen is his first foray into the bath-products business.
