NEW YORK — A 14-year-old boy was beaten and stabbed to death in an apparent argument over his scoring the most points in a New York school basketball game in which his sister was the official scorekeeper, police said Thursday.
Police said Michael Bennett died Wednesday in a fight between two rival groups of teens outside Jackie Robinson Junior High School in Brooklyn.
About six teenagers were arrested for disorderly conduct, but no charges had been filed in Bennett’s death, police said.
