Laura’s House, a shelter for abused women and children, received more than $25,000 in furnishings from the now defunct Capistrano by the Sea Hospital. The donations will help the shelter develop its new Transitional Housing Project, officials said Wednesday. The housing project is the top new project priority in the county, according to Housing and Urban Development officials. The new site will include six transitional housing units for graduates of the emergency shelter, a children’s day-care center and walk-in counseling services and offices.
