LAKERS-CLIPPERS REPORT

Veteran point guard Pooh Richardson was activated off the injured list along with rookie center Michael Olowokandi before Wednesday night’s game against the Lakers. Richardson, who had been on the list because of an ankle injury, had been linked to trade talk the last few weeks and said the move surprised him.

“I had been working out still and going on trips with the team waiting to see what happens,” Richardson said. “My whole thing is the communication factor. I don’t have a problem with anything as long as long as there is communication. I’m ready to go out and help the team win.”

Richardson, Rodney Rogers, Eric Piatkowski and Lamond Murray are the only Clippers left from the team that started the 1994-95 season 0-16. Richardson ended that streak with a last-second shot to defeat Milwaukee, 96-94, in overtime.

To make room for Richardson and Olowokandi, the Clippers put point guard Sherman Douglas and rookie forward Brian Skinner on the injured list. Douglas aggravated a groin injury in Tuesday’s loss to the Lakers and Skinner’s left knee, on which he had arthroscopic surgery during training camp, is bothering him again.
