Palisades to Meet Peninsula in Final

Nicole Funn scored 19 points and Leilani Estavan and Itricia Ewells each added 15 to lead top-seeded Palisades to a 73-50 victory over Oceanside El Camino Thursday night in a Division I semifinal of the girls’ Southern California regional of the state tournament at Palisades.
Palisades will play second-seeded Palos Verdes Peninsula, a 46-39 winner Thursday night over Hanford, in the final Saturday night at Cox Arena in San Diego.
Palisades (28-4) used an 8-0 run in the middle of the second quarter to take a 33-23 lead at halftime.
Estavan scored 11 points in the fourth quarter and put the game away with a rare four-point play. Estavan made a fall-away three-pointer and subsequent foul shot to give Palisades a 64-46 lead with 2:26 remaining.
Senior forward Audry Webb led the fourth-seeded Wildcats (25-4) with 14 points.
