Veronica Jimenez
Fullerton, Freshman
Softball
Jimenez, a utility player from City of Industry Workman High, was selected the most valuable player as the Hornets won the Golden West Invitational. Jimenez was 10 for 22, including two doubles and a home run, scored six runs and drove in six.
Softball
Tara Kroener
* Saddleback, sophomore. Won three games pitching and had four hits and five runs batted in.
Shaun Larkin
Cypress, Sophomore
Baseball
Larkin, a second baseman from La Quinta High, had another strong week for the first-place Chargers. He went seven for 11 to improve his batting average to .410. Larkin hit two home runs and added three doubles. He scored six runs and drove in six.
Tennis
John Cappello
* Saddleback, sophomore. He won his only match, 6-3, 6-1, to remain undefeated at No. 1 singles for the Gauchos.
