Ice Dogs Prevail in Shootout

SALT LAKE CITY — Patrik Augusta scored his 15th power-play goal of the season Wednesday night to help the Ice Dogs defeat the Utah Grizzlies, 2-1, in a shootout.
In the shootout, Ice Dog goalie Manny Leagace, who had saved 25 shots in regulation, allowed only one goal by Brent Hughes; Sean Tallaire and Jan Nemecek had shootout goals for Long Beach.
The Grizzlies pulled their goalie and it paid off as Darren Rumble tied the score with 34 seconds left in regulation.
The Ice Dogs (42-22-3) remain second in the Western Conference’s Southwest Division.
