With two games left in a five-game trip that completes a stretch of nine games in 13 days, the Clippers look like a tired team. In their 34-point loss at Boston on Wednesday, several players could be seen gasping, tugging on their shorts.
Boston rookie Paul Pierce said that the Celtics took advantage of the Clippers’ fatigue by pressing and running whenever they had the opportunity.
Coach Chris Ford considers the hectic schedule just another excuse.
“We’re certainly playing a lot of games right now, but if you look through our roster at the minutes the guys are playing, [fatigue] shouldn’t be a problem,” he said.
