* It’s payback time for supporters of Sheriff Mike Carona.
He promises to issue more concealed weapon permits than his predecessor, Brad Gates. Lucky for us the biennial fee will be raised to $100 (April 28).
If anyone in my family is shot by an enraged driver or a neighbor who has gone berserk, we will feel less pain knowing that the culprit paid a toll for the privilege of stashing a gat in his side pocket.
