These rivals meet in the section final for the first time after splitting their two Sea View League matches to share the league title. Corona del Mar, which won the Division III title last season, returns to a top-division final for the first time since winning the Division 4-A championship in 1989. Newport Harbor Coach Dan Glenn led the Sailors to the final in 1991, but Newport Harbor hasn’t won a title since 1987. The teams are evenly matched. Corona del Mar has perhaps the match’s most dangerous attacker (Dennis Alshuler), but Newport Harbor counters with balance. This could be a five-game marathon.
