A new cultural events specialist has been named for the city.
Cynthia Malvin, 25, will be responsible for coordinating major citywide events such as the annual Fourth of July fireworks show and festival called “A Night in Fullerton,” the family New Year’s Eve party called “First Night Fullerton” and the annual Fullerton Market. Malvin, a former marketing coordinator for the Newport Beach firm of Donahue Schriber, was a civilian employee of the U.S. Secret Service, where she specialized in determining counterfeit currency.
Malvin, born and raised in Anaheim, got an associate of arts degree from Fullerton College and a bachelor’s in advertising from Cal State Fullerton. She replaces Shannon Gallegos, who accepted a job with the city of La Palma.
