Costa Mesa Estancia 34, Montclair Prep 32--Gary Sonkur and Jerome Dennis combined for 206 yards rushing and three touchdowns but it wasn’t enough for the Mounties (7-2) at Newport Harbor High.
Sonkur had 107 yards in 21 carries and one touchdown, and Dennis had 99 yards in four carries and scored two touchdowns.
L.A. Baptist 35, Central Union 34--Linebackers Brandon Keene and Otha Cole combined to stop a two-point conversion run with 42 seconds remaining for the Knights (5-4) at Central Union.
Steve Graham’s 56-yard touchdown run with 4:12 remaining gave L.A. Baptist a 35-28 lead.
