An 18-year-old man was arrested after police found a homemade explosive device in his Canyon County home, authorities said Friday
Alexander Tater was booked on suspicion of possessing a destructive device, with bail set at $500,000, authorities said.
Sheriff’s investigators went to the man’s apartment in the 27300 block of Fahren Court after an anonymous call was received by 911 operators. Authorities found a plastic bottle with a wick attached, Sheriff’s Sgt. Russell Brown said.
“Inside the plastic looked like gunpowder and pellets,” Brown added.
No one was injured.
Deputies evacuated eight nearby townhouses while the container was examined.
