The deadline for candidate registration for the South Coast Water District board election on Nov. 7 has been extended until 5 p.m today.
The registrar extended the Aug. 11 deadline because three incumbents on the seven-member board did not register for reelection. All seven seats are up for grabs.
No one has filed yet for the third division. If no one files, the water district board will suggest a candidate for the seat to the Board of Supervisors, who will make the final decision.
