Applications are available at City Hall for residents interested in joining the Citizens Academy conducted by the Brea Police Department, which also serves the cities of Brea and Yorba Linda.
The 12-week program that begins Sept. 13 is designed to teach citizens about police and court procedures, different law enforcement departments, weapons used by officers and the K-9 program.
All applicants must undergo a background check. Classes will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays. Information: Call (714) 990-7625.
