Composer to Discuss Symphony Piece Before Its O.C. Premiere

Composer Philip Glass will talk about his new Choral Symphony No. 5 (“Requiem, Bardo and Nirmanakaya”) before its Orange County premiere on Oct. 13 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.
Glass will speak at 7 p.m. Carl St.Clair will conduct the Pacific Symphony, Pacific Chorale and five vocal soloists in the new work at 8 p.m. The symphony was co-commissioned by the Philharmonic Society as part of its “Eclectic Orange” Series.
The society also will host a party after the performance at the Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel. Glass and St.Clair are scheduled to attend.
