Woodbridge Reaches Final

Danny Lambert had 24 points and 10 rebounds to lift seventh-ranked Woodbridge to a 77-54 victory over Northwood in the semifinals of the Irvine World News boys’ basketball tournament at Northwood.
Woodbridge (9-2) will play Santa Fe Springs St. Paul in today’s championship game at 7 p.m. at Concordia University. The Warriors won this tournament from 1995-97.
In the other semifinal:
Santa Fe Springs St. Paul 52, Irvine 49--David Cox scored 19 points and Massud Naderi had 10 for Irvine (7-3), which was outscored by three in the second half.
In consolation games:
Tustin 50, Estancia 45--Sophomore guard Kyle Hall made two free throws with five seconds left to seal the victory for Tustin (3-7).
University 89, Fountain Valley 67--Hiro Christoph scored 19 points for University (5-4).
In a semifinal game at the Arroyo Grande tournament:
Ocea View 76, Los Angeles Taft 66--Marques Crane made 15 of 18 shots from the field, scored 11 fourth-quarter points and finished with 37 to lead the sixth-ranked Seahawks (7-1) into tonight’s championship game.
In the fifth-place game at the Downey Calvary Chapel tournament:
Brethren Christian 49, Whittier Christian 40--Brett Cooley scored 17 points for Brethren Christian (2-8).
Junior Tim Albeanu scored 11 points for Whittier Christian (1-8).
In the third-place game at the Lahaina-Luna Tournament of Champions in Hawaii:
Villa Park 58, West Hills Chaminade 37--The Spartans (13-2) led, 35-15, at halftime and 53-23 after three quarters. Matt MacGinnis had five three-pointers and scored 18 points for the Spartans, ranked fourth in the county.
In a semifinal game at the Shorewood (Wash.) Invitational:
Newport Harbor 62, Arlington (Wash.) 57--Five players scored in double figures for the Sailors, ranked 10th in the county, led by Greg Terrine’s 15 points.
In the semifinals of the Trabuco Hills Reebok tournament:
Carson 74, Trabuco Hills 64--Aaron Tudor scored 16 points and James Webster 13 for the Mustangs (7-4).
No. 2 Santa Margarita 66, Laguna Hills 30--Junior guard Travis Smith led Santa Margarita with 16 points. Jeff Sherman had 10 for Laguna Hills.
In nonleague games:
Anaheim 53, Santa Ana 44--Quinn Hawking had 28 points, including four three-pointers, for Anaheim (7-8), which led by one point after three quarters.
Brea Olinda 65, No. 5 El Dorado 61--Ryan Moore scored 14 of his game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter to lead visiting Brea Olinda (5-5).
Magnolia 55, Kennedy 54--Geoffrey Clayton’s free throw with three seconds left won it for Magnolia (7-8). Clayton scored 19 points and teammate Vincent Bryant had 22.
