A local stuffed-animal distributor has a lot less to distribute.
About 100,000 stuffed toys, mostly brown stuffed horses, are missing from Simi Valley-based It’s All Greek to Me. The value of the toys is $34,773, police said.
During Memorial Day weekend, a 40-foot-long trailer filled with the toys was parked outside the warehouse in the 2200 block of Agate Court, off Easy Street. Employees reported the trailer missing when they returned to work Tuesday.
Doug Braun, the company’s vice president of operations, is perplexed about the theft.
“We feel they didn’t know what was in the container,” he said.
The company, which specializes in stuffed toy bears used as sports mascots and souvenirs, does not have its name posted outside its building.
The theft is under investigation, said Sgt. Bob Gardner of the Simi Valley Police Department. Anyone with information should call police at 583-6950.
