Local Boxing Fans Still in Oscar’s Corner

The local media continue to claim that Oscar De La Hoya does not have L.A. support. The fact is, we love Oscar and embrace him. He is a bright, shining star that we are lucky to have.
Most boxing heavyweight champions fight once a year, usually against a bum. Oscar fights regularly and always against quality opponents. He is the definition of a true boxing champion.
L.A. sportscasters claim he lost fans because of his loss to Trinidad. Oscar lost a very, very close fight to a great champion. You don’t lose fans because of a close loss. If anyone wants to question Oscar’s heart--what’s he doing fighting Whitaker, Quartey, Trinidad and Mosley?
