Fourth-grader Rosy Nguyen correctly spelled “equilateral” on Wednesday to take first place at the Garden Grove Unified School District’s annual spelling bee for fourth- through sixth-graders. Nguyen, 9, beat out 44 students, winning an individual plaque and a perpetual trophy that will be displayed at her school, Woodbury Elementary. Runners-up Claire Carrell of Carrillo Elementary, Thao Bui of Simmons Elementary and Brian Bui of Clinton Elementary also received plaques. Information: (714) 663-6503.
