The 1st Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment from the Joint Forces Training Base plans to turn a donation drive that it held this month into an annual event. Community members and the California Army National Guard collected more than 550 pounds of nonperishable goods, more than 850 articles of clothing and 62 stuffed animals at the base on Nov. 5.
Items will go to the Orange County Rescue Mission’s Operation Hope project. The battalion plans to alternate charity groups each year. Information: (562) 795-1305.
