* HOWARD at UC IRVINE, 7, KUCI-FM (88.9)--The Bisons have won only three games in the last two years, and Howard fired coach Kirk Saulny in midway through last season. Coach Frankie Allen, who was 83-87 in six seasons at Tennessee State, was hired in May and got a late start recruiting. Four Los Angeles-area players, including 6-foot-9 sophomore Nick Dodson of Verbum Dei High, are on the roster.
