CAMARILLO — An amphibious plane made an emergency landing in the dry bed of Arroyo Simi off Somis Road on Saturday afternoon.
No one was injured and the plane was undamaged, said Ventura County Sheriff’s Sgt. Larry Meyers.
Donald Sawchencko of Key West, Fla., was the only person in the vintage aircraft when it ran out of fuel about 12:50 p.m., forcing him to make the emergency landing. Sawchencko was flying from Salinas to Camarillo, where he planned to refuel, he said.
