Space Police Want to See Baseball Coverage Arrested

I am constantly amazed at the balance of reporting in the sports section. Unless Tiger Woods is thrashing the competition, golf [seems to be] relegated to one paragraph on the back page. Unless someone is killed, auto racing (NASCAR being the most popular spectator sport in the USA) [seems to get] a paragraph next to golf.

But, oh my, the writers can do multiple stories on every baseball game played every day, with boring statistics and pictures of managers arguing with umpires, etc. What a thrill. Once a week, we get some kind of racing coverage from Shav Glick or another writer. Once a week.

I think that the sportswriters need to poll the readers. I think that they may find that tastes and interests have changed over the years, and sports reporting needs to change with it.
