Skynyrd Reschedules Concert for Aug. 19

Lynyrd Skynyrd, grappling with the death of its bass player, has again rescheduled its Universal Amphitheatre concert. The show is now scheduled for Aug. 19.
The Southern rockers were originally set to play Wednesday, but the recent death of founding member Leon Wilkeson, 44, forced a postponement. The show was then temporarily moved to Sept. 27. Tickets purchased for Wednesday’s canceled show will be honored.
Wilkeson died in a Jacksonville, Fla., motel, and preliminary signs point to lung and liver maladies as the cause of death. Guitarist Gary Rossington and pianist Billy Powell are now the band’s only remaining original members.
