Israeli Takeovers of Palestinian Homes

In response to “Property Seizures in Gaza, West Bank Widen Chasm,” Aug. 4: How dare the Israeli army cause such inconvenience and discomfort to a population engaged in waging a terrorist war against it! War certainly is hell--imagine having to live on a single floor while soldiers occupy your upper floor. Ghastly! So this is what genocide (a word the Palestinians are fond of using freely) looks like.
The Israeli army has no right to disturb people this way as they aid “activists” trying to kill as many Jews as possible. The Palestinian people have a right to wage war on Israel in peace.

Lt. Col. Yarden Vatikay, a spokesman for the Israeli defense minister, wants Palestinians to be quiet. When this happens Israel will end demolishing Palestinian homes and uprooting their olive trees. They want a docile population and expect the Palestinians to be grateful for whatever generous offer Israel chooses to grant them.
When there was no violence, Israel expropriated Palestinian property and bulldozed homes and olive groves, while periodically closing the borders. This was Palestinians’ reward for being docile.
The way to end the violence is an easy choice. End the occupation, encourage a Palestinian state and create economic independence for the Palestinians. Without these, there is no hope, only more violence.
