Update: A total of 153 amateur and professional teams entered the 2001 U.S. Open Cup and the field has been cut to the final four. The Fire is the defending champion and also won in 1998. Chicago has won eight consecutive games in the tournament over the last two years. It defeated the Galaxy, 2-1, in overtime in last year’s semifinals. The winner will play the winner of tonight’s other semifinal between the New England Revolution and D.C. United in the final Oct. 27.
