PRINCETON, N.J. — Dennis Mullen of the Mobile Mystics was suspended 36 games by the East Coast Hockey League on Thursday for throwing his helmet into the stands in New Orleans on Feb. 2.
The defenseman tossed his helmet into the stands at the New Orleans Arena during the Mystics’ game against the New Orleans Brass. No one was injured, the league said.
“The East Coast Hockey League will not tolerate incidents such as this, and we are grateful that nobody was inured,” Randy Hall, the league’s senior vice president of hockey operations, said in a statement.
