Pepperdine Still Perfect in Conference

Brandon Armstrong had 22 points and seven rebounds as Pepperdine defeated San Francisco, 82-78, Friday night to remain undefeated in the West Coast Conference.
Pepperdine (13-5, 5-0), which plays at St. Mary’s tonight, has won six in a row. David Lalazarian had 15 points and Derrick Anderson 14.
San Francisco (7-13, 0-5) was led by James Lee, who had a career-high 26 points. Darrell Tucker had 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Hondre Brewer had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Dons.

Marcus Smith, scored 14 of his team-high 18 points in the first half, lifting Loyola Marymount to a 71-63 WCC victory over St. Mary’s at Moraga, Calif.
The victory ended a losing streak at three for the Lions (6-12, 2-3). St. Mary’s (2-16, 0-5) lost its ninth consecutive defeat. Loyola plays at San Francisco tonight.
Smith, who grew up in nearby Vacaville, made seven of eight shots. The Lions shot 59.3% in the first half and 51% for the game.
