In other Southern Section boys’ finals:
Santa Ana Mater Dei 73, Corona Centennial 62--Mater Dei players acted like they had just won a pick-up game instead of their third consecutive I-A title--their ninth section championship in 10 years.
Guard Ricky Porter’s three-pointer with 1:30 remaining put Mater Dei ahead, 67-59, and Centennial (28-3) could pull no closer than within five points the rest of the way.
Cedric Bozeman scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds, and Jamal Sampson scored 20 points and had 11 rebounds for Mater Dei (29-2).
Jamaal Williams scored 14 of his 23 points in the second half for Centennial.
