Gunshot to Head Hospitalizes Man, 27

A 27-year old man was shot Saturday night in the city’s Santa Anita section, police said.
Residents in the 3500 block of West 1st Street called police about 9 p.m. to report gunshots in the alley. When police arrived, they found Cirilo Avelino critically wounded with a bullet wound to his head.
Avelino was taken to a local hospital, police Sgt. Bruce Leamer said.
