Columbus Day will be observed today. The following schedules will be in effect:
Public offices: Courts, post offices and state and federal government offices will be closed. City and county government offices and libraries will be open.
Schools and businesses: Most businesses and schools will be open. Banks will be closed.
Transportation: Buses and Metrolink trains will follow regular schedules.
Trash: Trash will be collected on its regular schedule throughout Ventura County.
