Re “Rapper Gets Probation on Gun Charge,” Aug. 22: Why wouldn’t a felon singer on gangster rappers’ CDs carry an “unmarked” firearm? If caught, all that he would receive is probation and have to pay a few bucks.
Given that the audience of this genre is largely young and impressionable, such a light sentence bodes ill for society. This sentence probably isn’t much of a deterrent to Nate Dogg, either.
