Brooke Wins Event on His Home Course

Chip Brooke used home-course advantage to shoot 65-69 for 10-under-par 134 to win the Southern California PGA Players Championship event Friday at Desert Willow Resort in Palm Desert.
Scott Miller of Sunset Hills Country Club finished second at 68-70--138, with Andy Gaither of Super Sports Golf and Recreation third at 74-65--139.
Tying for fourth were Ted Lehmann of Westlake Village Golf Club, 70-70--140, and Tim Marritt of La Costa Resort & Spa, 67-73--140.
