* * * Chocolate Genius, “Godmusic,” V2. As suggested by his album title, Chocolate Genius (the alias of New York singer-songwriter Marc Anthony Thompson) aims as high as the heavens. On his superb second album, Thompson often hits those marks, delivering melancholy, soulful hymns a la Mark Eitzel with a twist of Al Green. The soft-spoken “Infidel Blues” and the breathy melody of “To Serve You” will make you cry hallelujah.
