Dos Pueblos’ Wagner Clears 6 Feet at Arcadia

The high jump facility at Arcadia High, with its relatively small approach area, isn’t one that jumpers rave about.
But it didn’t prevent Kaylene Wagner of Goleta Dos Pueblos from joining the exclusive 6-foot club in winning the Arcadia Invitational on Saturday night.
Wagner, who has signed with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, added two inches to her previous best when she cleared 6 feet on her first attempt.
The effort broke the school record of 5-10 1/2 set by Denise Yamada in 1983, moved Wagner into a three-way tie for first on the yearly national performer list and into a three-way tie for second on the all-time Southern Section list.
