Video-Game Maker’s Sales Beat Expectations

Infogrames Entertainment, Europe’s biggest video-game maker, said its fiscal fourth-quarter sales beat analysts’ expectations, boosted by new games such as “V-Rally 3.”

Sales in the quarter ended June 30 climbed to $233 million, from $182 million a year earlier. Full- year sales rose 14% to $756 million, beating the $725 million estimate of three analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.

The Lyon, France-based company reports fiscal 2002 earnings Sept. 19. Its shares rose 3% in Paris.
