BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Derrick Williams, L.A. Price: Scored 23 points as the unranked Knights (13-0) beat No. 7 Moreno Valley Canyon Springs, 68-51, in a Lynwood tournament semifinal. Andre McGee had 23 for Canyon Springs.
Rudy Navarette, Pico Rivera El Rancho: Made a 50-foot shot at the buzzer in a 50-47 victory over Chino Don Lugo, which tied the score with two seconds on two free throws by Glen Powers.
Jason Brock, Garden Grove Pacifica: Scored 13 points, including four in the final 20 seconds and the game-winner with six seconds left, in a 45-44 victory over Santa Ana Century.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Jasmine and Barbara Madrigal, Covina Gladstone: Jasmine drove the length of the court in the final seconds for the game-winning layup in a 71-70 victory over Long Beach Jordan. Barbara scored a game-high 30 points.
Ashley Voisinet, Santa Ana Mater Dei: Had 15 points, including two three-pointers and nine points in the fourth quarter, in the No. 3 Monarchs’ 48-44 victory over No. 10 Fullerton Rosary.
Judith Smith, Long Beach Poly: Had 23 points in the No. 9 Jackrabbits’ 61-50 victory over No. 25 Keppel, which was led by Jessica Liang’s 20 points on six three-pointers.
GIRLS’ WATER POLO
Brittany Hayes and Jillian Kraus, Santa Ana Foothill: Hayes scored three goals and Kraus had the game-winning goal with 5:20 to play in an 8-7 victory over Newport Harbor in the championship game of the Newport Harbor tournament.
