‘Shrek’ Sales on VHS, DVD Top 21 Million

The DreamWorks animated feature “Shrek” has sold more than 21million VHS and DVD copies since its debut Nov. 2.
U.S. consumers snapped up 7.9million “Shrek” DVDs alone. The film, second at the U.S. box office in 2001, has generated about $420million in VHS and DVD sales. Retail reorders are still being received by DreamWorks.
In the seven international territories in which it has been released so far, the “Shrek” DVD has become the No.1 release of the year, selling more than 2.1 million units. Worldwide, more than 10 million DVDs have been sold to date.
