Trip Mercifully Ends

SAN JOSE — Now that it’s over, this eight-day trip, featuring the always enjoyable Boston-to-San Jose flight at the end, isn’t even the longest of the year for the Kings.
The longest was a 12-day sojourn in late November, including stops at Detroit, Colorado, Tampa Bay, Florida, Carolina and Chicago. Not too surprisingly, the Kings went 1-5 on that trip.
The Kings have now made five trips to the Eastern time zone and still have one left next month.
The schedule makers didn’t do the Kings any favors.
See how good Ziggy Palffy’s memory is on Tuesday.
When the Kings take the ice at Staples Center against Nashville, expect Palffy to remember the last time the Kings played the Predators, Dec. 1.
That’s when Palffy broke a rib in a 4-2 victory in Nashville. Palffy’s goal last week against the Rangers was his first since Nov. 27.
How do you figure this: Jason Allison has two points in the last eight games ... and the Kings are 5-2-1 in that span.
The Sharks got some bad news when they learned that defenseman Magnus Ragnarsson will miss four weeks instead of two after breaking his finger last week.
