An off-duty Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer and the driver of a van were killed Sunday in a collision in Agua Dulce, police said.
The motorcycle hit the driver’s side of the van as the van was making a U-turn from the right shoulder of Soledad Canyon Road, at Agua Dulce Canyon Road, said Officer Alex Gonzalez of the California Highway Patrol.
A passenger in the van, believed to be the driver’s 78-year-old wife, was hospitalized with moderate injuries, Gonzalez said.
Authorities withheld the names of the 50-year-old officer, who lived in Canyon Country, and the 81-year-old driver of the van pending notification of relatives.
