FAA Proposes Fining Boeing for Violations

The Federal Aviation Administration has proposed fining Boeing Co. nearly $350,000 for allegedly failing to maintain certain quality controls, mostly in the mid-1990s.
The FAA accused the company’s Seattle-based commercial airplane division of violating regulations on four occasions.
Boeing spokesman Tom Ryan said the firm would oppose the fines and that the alleged problems did not result in flight safety risks. The FAA said Boeing worked to identify and correct the problems when they were discovered.
Shares of Boeing rose 7 cents to $45.79 on the NYSE.
